e-Learning Brothers

e-Learning Brothers mission is to create e-learning awesomeness and they do it with great style and a flamboyant but cool personality. They are based just outside Salt Lake City, Utah in American Fork (the heart of Silicon Slopes) and are true e-Learning rockstars. e-Learning Brothers was one of our first clients at Spiral Scout and basically family. We witnessed them grow from a few people to over a few hundred now. Their main business is creating digital assets and templates so that people can build engaging, interactive and inspiring training courses.

The Opportunity and Challenges

The Opportunity and Challenges

e-Learning Brothers came to us when they had no technical team. Their business needed a digital asset management system architected and developed that would allow them to upload and categorize hundreds of thousands of digital assets into the cloud. eLB's clients needed a way to purchase a monthly or yearly subscription to download those digital assets and then be able to instantly get them on their desktop. In addition, they needed a custom customer relationship management module that would manage all their customer names, sales tracking history, and help alert salespeople when a subscription was about to expire.

Spiral Scout's Solution

For e-Learning Brothers, we have done almost all of their frontend and backend work on their current site, asset library and admin dashboard area. We built them an entire subscription-based digital asset management system, a robust CRM, and a user management system. Any eLB site admin can upload multiple files, associate metadata to them, and offer them to customers for immediate download. It is a fully-robust digital asset management system for most types of assets including illustrations, audio, video, Flash, ActionScript files, etc. There is also a front-end user interface that enables admins to instantly edit any content directly on the page. We also performed a few smaller design projects around UI [user interface] and UX [user experience] to help their in-house designer. When eLB wanted to convert their elearning games from Flash to HTML5 or create new custom HTML5 games, they turned to us for this game design and development work. We did over 30 of their games and created a custom game configuration engine that allowed non-technical people to update the games on their own.

How did we do?

How did we do?

We asked Andrew, CEO of eLearning Brothers to share any statistics or metrics from the time we have been partnered with them. This is what he wrote: "Spiral Scout is our key partner. We don't have any other partners that are as critical as they are to our business. In 2012 when we were talking to those guys (Spiral Scout), we were probably a few employees. We're at more than 150 now, and have consistently been one of the fastest-growing companies in Utah and the United States, and they've been a huge support. For us, they're super responsive. JD, the CTO, is really hands-on on the developer side. He responds to us at any time – day, night – it doesn't matter. He understands what we're doing so well. This sounds cliché, but half the time I will start a sentence, he finishes it and he's already said, "Yes, I already thought about that and I'm halfway done with it." It's been fabulous." Spiral Scout’s excellent performance and responsiveness made us eLB's key engineering partner. Spiral Scout has earned eLB's praise for our responsive communication, easy-going approach, and affordable pricing.
